Life of Android

19 November 2012

The more apps you have, the more time you spend checking email, playing music, hurling bad tempered birds at off-colour oinkers, watching videos or just surfing the web during an overly long train journey to somewhere with a name like Dulwich, the more precious power your Android haemorrhages, moving you ever nearer to the awful inevitability of an empty battery and complete communication breakdown[...] such shocking scenarios can be avoided if you go out armed with this clever bit of kit: the ChargeGenie from Energenie. The world's first universal charger, the ChargeGenie bypasses the problems of differing Android phone form factors by simply clamping on to the back of your device, regardless of design, and pumping the power in via a tethered USB cable, while the charger?s flexible spine allows the battery pack to bend to follow your handset?s contours.

But if you're not in the market to upgrade your appliances, there are still lots of great ways to save on energy used by the appliances you already own.
In addition to loving the name, I find the Energenie a very convenient vampire fighter! It offer lots of flexibility, as it can automatically cut current when devices go in to standby, after a half hour, or via the remote or by timer. Unfortunately I haven't found it in the US yet. Here's hoping it makes it over the pond!
